Description
https://dans.knaw.nl/en/agenda/shaping-the-world-of-3d/The earth is not flat and neither is its cultural heritage. Increasingly many 3D datasets are being produced as part of cultural heritage and archaeological research. As the production of 3D models and visualisations has become established, it becomes more and more important to properly manage the results. Questions remain about best practices regarding aspects of the datasets such as data storage, file formats and usage licences – all sorts of considerations in order to facilitate the reuse of the data.
We will address these and related issues by bringing together the Dutch research community dealing with 3D research data in cultural heritage. This day-long specific focus on 3D digital data with presentations by experts and open discussions, will result in a roadmap to improve the infrastructure for 3D dataset management and reuse.
