From Onstage to backstage: linked data and the history of theatre in the Dutch Golden Age

Activity: Talk or presentationAcademic

Description

Onstage is a database with the almost complete programming of the Amsterdam city theatre from 1637 up until 1772. The vast majority of the plays staged in this period have been identified and linked to external resources with biographical and bibliographical data, like the STCN, Ecartico, the DBNL and Wikidata. In this talk I discussed how linked open data helped us in building and enriching this resource and which research perspectives might arise by embedding Onstage in the Golden Agents infrastructure.
