In this conference paper, we present the initial phase of a project that aims to present collections in a flexible way and that has the possibility to accommodate multi-perspectivity, different paradigms, and the various needs of communities that we want to serve as an archive. This approach challenges the idea of ‘the archive’ and the role of the archivist. When key archival duties are relegated to preservation, sharing assets and connecting user-groups with collections as living resources, other traditional archival roles are open to redefinition.
