Personal profile

About

My research is centered on exploring the individual war experiences of soldiers and volunteers, particularly non-Germans who fought alongside the Nazi Germans during WWII, whether conscripted or volunteered. I delve into their frontline and military experiences through the analysis of war letters. Prior to this, my focus was on commemorating military dead, exploring exhumations of human remains and war cemeteries in Germany and Russia.

Moreover, my research expertise is underscored by my background as an archivist and my involvement with EUROPEANA in digitizing historical documents and cultural heritage. I am particularly invested in addressing questions pertaining to preservation and accessibility.
