My name is Vasso Kalaitzi and I work at DANS as Research Data Management Specialist. 

At DANS I am a member of the Data Expert and the Project acquisition teams. I am project leader for DANS's participation in the BY-COVID project, working on findability and accessibility of data across scientific, medical, public health and policy domains, related to SARS-CoV-2 and other infectious diseases, thus leading to effective pandemic response. I am also a member of the SSHOC - Social Sciences and Humanities Open Cloud and FAIRsFAIR - Fostering Fair Data Practices in Europe project teams.

A political scientist by training, I am an experienced EU program and project manager, with a Human Resources background, passionate about stakeholder engagement and empowerment through skills development. 

I am a results oriented generalist with an eye for identifying needs and contributing to appropriate solutions. I enjoy being inspired by the people I interact with, while I always look for ways to inspire and empower those around me.

I strongly believe in giving back to the community. I volunteer for stray animals and visually impaired people. I have been a caregiver for children victims of neglect or abuse temporarily placed in greek public hospitals following the intervention of the state.

I hold an MSc in European Studies from the Athens University of Economics and Business, and a BSc in Political Science and Public Administration from the National Kapodistrian University of Athens. Before joining DANS, I worked as Head of International projects at LIBER, the Association of European research libraries.
