The NIOD's collection of World War II diaries and letters was added to the new Dutch Unesco Memory of the World register. With this, Unesco recognises the exceptional nature of this collection, which includes more than 165.000 personal documents of people during World War II in the Netherlands, Indonesia and the former Dutch East Indies.
