Urban environments are ever expanding and differ markedly from rural and natural ecosystems. Still, we have little information how well plants and animals are able to cope with urban environments. Here, we propose to link novel ecological analyses with analyses of museum and herbarium collections for a unique assessment of urban evolution: how are plants and animals adapting to city environments?
