Abstract
The article is devoted to the history of the first German and Russian editions of the Manifesto of the Communist Party from 1848 to the 1920s, stored in the State Public Historical Library of Russia. The circumstances of the distribution and features of various issues, translations into Russian and other languages, the evolution of the popularity of the Manifesto in the 1850s and 1880s are considered.
