Abstract
The interaction between cancer cells and their microenviroment strongly influences growth and invasiveness of neoplasia. In this issue of Gut, a new study identifies the extracellular matrix (ECM) component, SPARC, as a critical determinant of tumor burden in the APCmin/+ model of intestinal cancer.
