Abstract

Coin circulation is a popular topic today. Its interest is more recently triggered by the introduction of the Euro coins in 2002, which, since each coin has a national symbol, allowed scholars to analyse their spread across the Eurozone. Less incarnation is known about the ancinet Seleucid Empire. In this paper we hope to remedy this by supplying a simple model of coin circulation for the Seleucid Empire almost 2,500 years ago (312/1-first quarter of the first century BC).
