Abstract

In the Dutch CLARIAH-NL project a new central catalog, named INEO, has been developed. It contains data sets and tools from both the CLARIN and the cultural heritage communities in The Netherlands. To show its commitment to the FAIR principles, the original aim was to only include FAIR enough datasets and tools. To do so, one has to assess the FAIRness of datasets and tools.
This paper reports on the journey to enable this: via a FAIR Implementation Profile, to make CLARIN’s strategies to implement the FAIR principles explicit, a FAIR asessment tool, called pyFAT, to be able to assess a CMDI metadata record, and extensions to the CLARIN harevesting pipeline.
