Uniting researchers and repositories to improve data FAIRness: The Netherlands in a European perspective

Research output: Book/ReportReportScientific

Abstract

The European Research Data Landscape study aimed to present a detailed snapshot of the state of the research data ecosystem in Europe. Their researcher and repository surveys investigated the topics of research data management, sharing and reuse, and the current state of FAIR and open data. The study provided interesting insights and subsequent recommendations, and the data of the study was openly published to allow reuse. That FAIR practice allowed this paper to be created, where the focus is put on the subset of data specific to the Netherlands. This paper investigates the survey data in the Dutch context, comparing it to the European sample, and more importantly comparing it to the desires and ambitions there are for further improvement.
