GLOBALISE Thesaurus - Commodities

The dataset is created to provide a subject-specific classification/hierarchization and thesaurus of commodities shipped in the early modern Indian Ocean World as sourced from the Dutch East India Company (VOC) archives. Although the dataset can be used as a standalone resource, it is principally meant to be integrated into the GLOBALISE project as a whole, to serve as reference data for the annotation of named entities, and to be used in future query expansion.
